In this tutorial I’ll be demonstrating how you can make brushes in Affinity Designer based on your own designs and custom shapes. This is a feature that is mostly utilized in raster environments like Photoshop or GIMP, but that doesn’t mean that brushes don’t have a place in a vector application. You can use the same techniques to add texture to any object, shape or text. Click directly on the icon of the texture and you will be able to move, resize or rotate it to get the look you want. If you find yourself needing to move or change the size of the mask you can still do that. Right click on the texture layer and select Mask To Below.Īffinity Designer will create a mask from the texture. Make sure that the texture is on the layer above the wording. Next, we will create a clipping mask for the texture overlay. From here you can make any changes to the size or rotation of the texture.
